Walter Cook and Daniel Schwartz are the founders and leaders of Republic Federal.
They are the portrait of our core values. They not only set the standards that every other member of our bank strives to live up to but they also follow those standards and set the example of what a Republic Federal’s “citizen” should be like.
Walter R. Cook Chairman & CEO
Walter R. Cook is a 27-year veteran of the banking industry, specializing in commercial banking, wealth management and corporate strategy.
Before founding Republic Federal with Mr. Schwartz, Mr. Cook was the executive in charge of Republic National Bank of New York’s operations in Chile, Hong Kong, Japan and Beverly Hills, California. Most recently, he served as chairman of First Republic Securities LLC, as well as executive president of First Republic Bank.
Mr. Cook is a founding trustee member of the Houston-based Amigos de las Americas Foundation, an organization dedicated to Latin American Public Health. He received a Master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1982. He also holds a Master of Arts in Law & Diplomacy from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. In 1976, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University. Mr. Cook is fluent in Spanish.
Daniel M. Schwartz President & COO
Daniel M. Schwartz is a 26-year banking expert in international banking and commercial lending.
Before founding Republic Federal with Mr. Cook, Mr. Schwartz was the executive in charge of Republic National Bank of New York’s operations in Chile, Canada, Switzerland, France, New York, and Mexico.
Mr. Schwartz is president of the Beth David Congregation and is on the Board of Directors for both the Salvadorian American Humanitarian Foundation and World Trade Center Miami. He received his BBA in finance from Babson College in 1977 and his MBA from New York University in 1980. He also attended the International Management Program at Hautes Etudes Commerciales in Paris in 1979. Mr. Schwartz is fluent in Spanish, French, and Italian.
